Pave’
The term Pave’ derives from the French word for paving, as in paving a street. The word was somewhat descriptive of the diamond setting style in which small round diamonds are used to literally pave’ an area of a ring or other jewels.
The desired effect is to obtain an area that looks like it is paved with diamonds, with as little as possible metal showing.
Pave setting has been around for hundreds of years. In the 1800s Cartier was just one company that used pave’ setting on their jewels.
Micro Pave’
Micro-pave’ is the most precise method of setting very small diamonds measuring .004 to 1.00 millimeters. This style of setting can only be achieved by a skilled diamond setter, using a high power microscope. The setter can attain complete accuracy when setting microscopic size diamonds. The magnification helps allows for a uniform layout of the diamonds, each diamonds is set with four raised beads, allowing the stone support from four sides, the safest and most resilient style of micro pave.
